有时候只是想在古晋走一走、透透气，不想特地开很远。水塘公园 Taman Perpaduan 就是这种很轻松的小 escape。

它不是那种“哇很壮观”的景点，但就是舒服。湖、树荫、步道、凉亭，走一圈下来心情会比较静一点。

Sarawak Tourism 把这里介绍成一个小而安静的城市绿地，有 jogging path、湖景、树荫和适合野餐/发呆的角落。老实讲，这个形容蛮准的：不用排 itinerary，不用买票，到了就走。

Tripadvisor 的评价也很像本地人会讲的感觉。有游客说下午来散步时很安静，看到鸟、松鼠、乌龟，还有喷泉、凉亭、桥和雕塑；另一个人早上经过，看到很多人在 jogging、做运动，气氛很 friendly。也有人提到这里有两个湖、弯弯的步道、免费入场，而且从 Waterfront 那一带走过来也不算远。

Kupi 的旅游页也讲到重点：这里胜在 relaxed atmosphere 和位置方便，不是靠“大景点感”取胜。Pacer 那边把 Taman Budaya 标成大约 21.1 acres，适合 walking 和 family activities，所以带小朋友慢慢走也 OK。

我的建议：早上或傍晚去最好。中午会热，而且里面不一定有东西买，自己带水比较稳。下雨后有些路可能会滑，穿好走一点的鞋比较安心。

What people seem to like most is how low-effort this place is. Sarawak Tourism describes it as a small peaceful green space with jogging paths, a serene lake, shaded areas, and picnic-friendly corners. That matches the vibe: no big itinerary, just turn up and walk.

Tripadvisor reviews are pretty consistent too. One visitor called it a beautiful peaceful park after an afternoon walk, mentioning birds, squirrels, terrapins, fountains, gazebos, a bridge, and sculptures. Another liked the early morning atmosphere because locals were already jogging and exercising. A third older review pointed out the two lakes, winding paths, free entry, and how it is only about a short walk from the Waterfront side of town.

Kupi's travel page also sums it up nicely: the park is more about relaxed atmosphere and easy access than "wow factor" sightseeing. Pacer lists Taman Budaya at about 21.1 acres and suitable for walking and family activities, so it works well if you want a gentle stroll instead of a serious hike.

My take: go in the morning or late afternoon. Midday can feel hot, and there is not much in the way of food or drink stalls inside, so bring water. After rain, some paths may be slippery, so slippers with no grip are not your best friend here.

Not every nice Kuching spot needs to be a full-day plan. Sometimes one calm lake, a red bridge, and some shade are enough.

AirBorneo回应RM375古晋-吉隆坡航线机票争议，强调这是包含行李、餐食和选位的全包价。

AirBorneo首席执行员Megat Ardian Aminuddin说，这个票价是参考过去6个月吉隆坡-古晋航线各航空公司的平均最低票价，以及去年平均最低票价后定下的。

他说，RM375包括机场税、23公斤托运行李、10公斤手提行李、机上餐食和选位。

为什么不是只看表面票价

乡区航线也会调整

AirBorneo也在处理乡区航空服务（RAS）近期延误的问题。

目前RAS使用14架涡轮螺旋桨飞机，包括8架ATR 72-500和6架Twin Otter，每月载客量约6万至7万人。

Megat Ardian说，需求较低的乡区航班可能会合并，让飞机有更多维修时间，但这不代表航线会关闭。

AirBorneo says its RM375 Kuching-Kuala Lumpur fare is all-in, after some travellers said the price still feels high.

AirBorneo chief executive officer Megat Ardian Aminuddin said the fare was set after comparing the lowest average fares offered on the Kuala Lumpur-Kuching route over the past six months, plus last year's average lowest fares.

He said the RM375 price includes airport tax, 23kg checked baggage, 10kg cabin baggage, meals and seat selection.

What passengers get

The airline said some cheaper-looking fares from other carriers may only show the base fare first, before add-ons such as baggage or meals.

Megat Ardian said AirBorneo wants to help keep fares between Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia more stable, because high ticket prices were one of the biggest public concerns before the airline launched.

The fare is available for travel until March 27, 2027. AirBorneo will watch booking demand and competitor pricing before deciding how long to keep it.

Rural flights also being reviewed

AirBorneo is also working on reliability for its Rural Air Services network after recent disruptions.

The airline currently uses 14 turboprop aircraft for RAS flights: eight ATR 72-500s and six Twin Otters. It carries about 60,000 to 70,000 passengers a month on the network.

Megat Ardian said lower-demand rural routes may be consolidated to give aircraft more maintenance time, but he said this does not mean routes will be closed.

Batu Kawa is getting 10 neighbourhood park projects, with RM3.82 million set aside for new and upgraded recreational spaces.

The projects started in April and are expected to be completed by February next year.

They are being carried out under the Sarawak government's Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), through Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).

What is being built

The works include new parks, upgrades and maintenance at existing facilities.

The areas listed are Taman Genesis, Taman Moyan, Taman Highfield, Taman Desa Wira, Jalan Carina Estate, Jalan Batu Kawa Lorong 3, Taman Phoenix Batu Kawa, Jalan RPR Batu Kawa, Taman San Chin and Taman Vision Land.

Deputy Premier and Batu Kawa assemblyman Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian said the projects are moving according to schedule.

Dr Sim also said a new community recreational park is planned at the General Operations Force (GOF) Batu Kawa along Jalan Field Force.

That project has a ceiling allocation of RM900,000. MPP is now finalising the paperwork before it goes to public tender.

这个地方最特别的点，是它明明像 neighbourhood park，可是细节又做得比普通公园多一点。里面有中式牌坊、湖、亭子、九曲桥、郑和像、砂拉越主题的壁画和纪念设计，走一圈不会太累，拍照也不会太空。

我整理了几个来源的评价，大概是这样：

TripAdvisor 上大概 4.1/5，60 个评价。近年的游客比较喜欢它安静、好拍、有奶茶店、池塘和停车位这些点。不过也有旧评价提到池塘维护有时不稳定，所以不要用 theme park 的标准来看它，会比较不会失望。

Trip.com 2026 的游记建议停留 1 到 1.5 小时，也推荐早上或傍晚去，避开太阳和人潮。这个我认同，纯散步拍照的话，一个小时左右其实很够。

Malaysia Traveller 的评价比较 practical：免费入场、有厕所、有茶亭，值得顺路去。停车也是免费的，不过傍晚热门时间可能会比较满。

Borneo Post 以前也写过，这里是本地人傍晚散步、跑步、家庭活动和拍婚纱照会来的地方。这个形容很准，它更像 Kuching 人的日常小景点，不是那种游客打卡完就走的地方。

我的建议：傍晚去最舒服。太阳没那么晒，湖边反光比较美，人也比较多一点，不会冷冷清清。走一走、坐一下、买杯饮料，刚刚好。

Ever pass Jalan Song and think, “one day I should stop there”? This is that place. Malaysia-China Friendship Garden is not a huge tourist attraction, but for a slow evening walk, a few photos, and a bit of Kuching city air, it actually works very nicely.

What I like about this place is that it feels very “Kuching neighbourhood”, but with extra effort put into the details. You get the Chinese-style arch, pond, pavilion, zig-zag bridge, Zheng He statue, Sarawak-themed monuments, and enough open space for a simple walk after dinner.

I checked a few visitor sources before writing this:

TripAdvisor has it at about 4.1/5 from 60 reviews. Recent visitors liked the peaceful feel, photo spots, milk tea stop, koi pond and parking. One fair warning from older reviews: the pond condition can depend on maintenance, so don’t expect a perfect theme park every time.

Trip.com’s 2026 travel notes recommend around 1 to 1.5 hours here, especially early morning or late afternoon. That feels about right. If you just walk, take photos and sit for a bit, one hour is enough.

Malaysia Traveller calls it worth visiting, free to enter, with public toilets and a tea house. Their practical note is useful too: parking is free, but peak evening slots can fill up.

Borneo Post also described it as a favourite local place for evening walks, jogging, family time and even wedding photos. That’s pretty much the real vibe here: more local hangout than “must-buy-ticket” attraction.

My honest take: go when the sun is softer. Late afternoon to early evening is the sweet spot. The lake reflections look better, the heat is less annoying, and the park feels more alive with people walking, jogging, or just lepak around the pond.

实仁甲大桥工程已经完成94%，预计今年10月可比原定时间更早完工通车。

这座全长1.2公里的大桥，是连接古晋实仁甲（Sejingkat）和第二主干道路网的重要工程。

Sejingkat Bridge is now 94% complete and could open earlier than planned this October.

The 1.2km bridge is being positioned as a major new link for Kuching and Sarawak's Second Trunk Road network.

Sarawak Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Aidel Lariwoo said the project is about one per cent ahead of schedule. The original completion date was October 22, but the remaining works are now mainly focused on road approaches at Sejingkat and Tanjung Bako.

Why it matters

Once completed, the bridge is expected to handle about 15,000 vehicles a day. It will connect Sejingkat, Kuching to the wider Second Trunk Road network, giving travellers from coastal and interior areas a stronger route into Kuching.

The project is also tied to future plans around Tanjung Embang, including the proposed new Kuching airport and deep-sea port.

️ 停车位是隐忧

A brand new Type 2 health clinic in Tabuan Jaya is set to open on July 20, offering services to up to 1,000 patients daily.

The RM24 million facility, announced by Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, will serve patients from Tabuan Jaya, Samarahan (up to Unimas), and Stutong areas.

Parking Concerns

Dr Sim noted the clinic only has about 100 parking spaces despite serving up to 1,000 patients and employing 179 staff — something to keep in mind when visiting.

The clinic (Lot 19351, Block 11, Muara Tebas Land District) is the second Type 2 clinic in Sarawak after Petra Jaya. It was originally supposed to be completed in June 2024 but was delayed due to additional Fire Department requirements.

GPS 澄清：砂州选候选人尚未确定 — 社交媒体流传的候选人名单不属实

古晋，7月6日讯 — 砂拉越政党联盟（GPS）今日发表声明，澄清目前尚未决定任何砂拉越州选举的潜在候选人，否认社交媒体上流传的所谓候选人名单。

GPS 发言人兼土保党（PBB）资讯主任拿督斯里阿都卡林表示，这些贴文已在党内和支持者中造成混淆，并强调名单上的人物并未获得联盟的认可。

「最近社交媒体上出现了一些贴文，指某些人物被提议为 GPS 的候选人。」

KUCHING, July 6 — Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has come out to clarify that no potential candidates have been decided for the upcoming Sarawak State Election, following social media posts circulating names of purported candidates.

GPS spokesman and PBB information chief Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the posts have caused confusion among party leadership and supporters. He stressed that the individuals named have not been endorsed by the coalition.

"Recently, there have been a few postings on social media on personalities purportedly proposed as GPS candidates for the upcoming Sarawak State Elections.

"In this regard, GPS wishes to clarify that no potential candidates have been decided by the coalition of Sarawak governing party," he said in a statement.

However, GPS expressed appreciation for the public attention, viewing it as a sign of support.

联邦内部安全及公共秩序局（JKDNKA）总监 CP Dato Sri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri 透露，Operasi Bersepadu Khazanah（OBK）行动于6月1日至16日期间展开，逮捕6名本地及外籍嫌犯。

Federal police dismantle an RM81.8 million bird's nest syndicate after 10 raids across Sarawak, with Kuching identified as a major hub for the illegal trade.

Federal Department of Internal Security and Public Order (JKDNKA) director CP Dato Sri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the raids under Operasi Bersepadu Khazanah (OBK) from June 1 to 16 led to the arrest of six suspects — both locals and foreign nationals.

The syndicate was involved in the illegal collection, possession and trade of edible bird's nests without valid licences. Investigations revealed the nests were processed at commercial premises rather than harvested from natural sites like caves or forests, with products mainly intended for export.

Suspects have been handed over to Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) for action under the Wildlife Protection Ordinance 1998.

Nationwide, the OBK operation produced 70 investigation papers, 62 arrests, and seized RM98.4 million in wildlife and environmental crimes. Items seized included 16,367kg of edible bird's nests, 223 birds, 8 eagles, 2 pangolins, 790 turtle eggs, 4,238 turtles, 218 axolotls, 116 exotic fish, 959 fighting cocks and 1,673 logs.

风洞（Gua Angin / Wind Cave） 跟 Fairy Cave（仙洞）虽然是两隔壁，但体验完全两个世界。仙洞是那种一大个洞穴亮亮的，Wind Cave 则是三条全黑的隧道，全程靠一支手电筒走完 1km 的木板步道。

这个保护区由 Sarawak Forestry Corporation 管理，占地 6.16 公顷，里面有四条小径大概 1 小时就能走完：蝙蝠洞径、河景观径、丛林径、化石径。

走完洞穴，木板步道会带你到 Sarawak Kanan 河岸边，那里有个小沙滩、更衣室和野餐区。很多人走出来直接跳河游泳消暑，超爽的！

Ever been inside a cave so dark you literally can't see your hand in front of your face? That's Wind Cave.

Unlike Fairy Cave which is basically one huge well-lit chamber, Wind Cave (also called Gua Angin / Lubang Angin) is made up of three completely unlit tubular passages. You walk on a 1km plankwalk through pitch black tunnels with nothing but your torch and the high-pitched squeaking of thousands of bats.

The reserve is managed by Sarawak Forestry Corporation and covers about 6.16 hectares including the cave and surrounding limestone forest. There are four trails you can do in about an hour: Cave Bat Trail, Riverview Trail, Jungle Trail, and Fossil Trail.

• Torch rental: RM 4-5 at the entrance (trust me, your phone light is NOT enough)
• Wear grippy shoes — it gets slippery
• 🧢 Wear a hat unless you want bat droppings in your hair
• Must register online or scan QR at entrance (slot limit 200 pax)

At the end of the cave, the plankwalk brings you out to the banks of Sungai Sarawak Kanan where there's a small beach, changing rooms, and picnic area. Perfect for a cooling river swim after the cave.

Wind Cave is just 5km from Bau town and about 45 minutes drive from Kuching city. Most people combine it with Fairy Cave and the Siniawan Night Market for a full day trip.
