下午4时古晋API达366，西连与伦杜维持危险水平

8月31日下午4时，古晋空气污染指数（API）升至366，三马拉汉和西连也继续处于危险水平。 当时三马拉汉为350、西连445，伦杜更达405；另外Tebedu、Lubok Antu和Sri Aman分别为399、396和334。
Sarikei、Sibu及Mukah则处于非常不健康水平，指数分别为277、243和216。这些是下午4时的监测读数，烟霾情况会随时间变化，出门前应查看较新的官方更新。
砂拉越灾难管理委员会目前表示，还没有需要宣布紧急状态。如果某个地区的API达到500，州方须先与国家灾难管理机构协调；即使宣布紧急状态，也只针对有关地区，不会自动覆盖全砂。在紧急状态下，该地区的政府及私人办公室、学校和活动将暂停，必要服务除外。
API达到201或以上的地区，居民受促减少户外活动；必须外出时，优先佩戴N95口罩，若没有则至少使用三层口罩。儿童、长者及有呼吸疾病者应尽量留在室内，若咳嗽、呼吸困难或眼睛严重不适，应求医。
