Pay & Go users told to report duplicate parking charges for refund
-
Pay & Go users who believe they have been charged twice for parking should report the error to the operator and seek a refund, Kuching South Mayor Wee Hong Seng said.
In his Saturday live session, Wee said the operator would check a complaint against photographs and data captured by the system. He said inaccurate duplicate charges within a half-hour period would be refunded without penalty.
The mayor also drew a distinction between parking fees, which are handled through the operator's system, and compounds enforced by Kuching South City Council (MBKS). Motorists remain responsible for paying in designated public bays, whether or not a bay is numbered, he said.
Wee said people with Pay & Go problems could also contact him on 010-6601919 for help following up. He said MBKS was discussing the current rates with the operator to avoid an increase.
