Saujana Building earmarked for demolition in Kuching redevelopment
-
Kuching's Saujana Building is expected to be demolished as part of a redevelopment of the area opposite Gurdwara Sahib Kuching, Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Tun Openg said on Sunday.
Speaking at the opening of the gurdwara's extension, he said new buildings were planned around the area towards Brooke Dockyard. The proposed ART central station would stand in front of the gurdwara.
The station, known as Hikmah Exchange, is being developed at the former Padang Pasir car park and is intended to connect the Red, Blue and Green lines. The Premier did not give a demolition date in his remarks reported by DayakDaily. The redevelopment is a plan, not an announcement that work on the Saujana site has begun.
