The flight to Long Lellang STOLport is expected to take about an hour. A police team that travelled by road overnight had reached the village by 11am and was expected to continue towards the site.

The deployment follows Tuesday afternoon’s crash involving a Flying Doctor Service helicopter in Ulu Baram. The condition and identities of those on board were still being confirmed in the latest reports, apart from one medical officer whose identity had been confirmed to her family. Sarawak police are expected to provide a further update at a press conference in Miri at 4pm.
